Independent teen pregnancy groups are all around the country, and there is sure to be at least one in any given city.  Some teen pregnancy programs may be associated with a local hospital, while others might be free standing.  Whatever the case, these programs can provide numerous resources for little or no cost.

One of the major aspects of pregnancy that teen pregnancy programs cover is medical care related to the baby.  Most centers for teens provide general psychiatric support, cervical cancer screening, and even nutritional counseling!  Other services provided include educational videos and group discussions on various topics.  Such teen pregnancy programs provide advice and allow the expectant teens to be around people like themselves.

Many teens are scared or embarrassed to ask for help.  Pregnancy among teenagers can be a touchy subject, and many teens in the situation might not feel accepted everywhere.  Luckily, teen pregnancy programs provide just the sort of acceptance they need.  The people involved in the programs are not judgmental, and they are not concerned with the causes of a teen’s pregnancy.  It is important to remember that you can not do this alone—having a support system is crucial, and a teen pregnancy program is one way you can get just that!
